Moderate Risk: Combined cardiovascular and thermoregulatory strain
MDMA raises body temperature, heart rate and blood pressure, while alcohol acts as a diuretic and central nervous system depressant. Combining the two places additional strain on the cardiovascular system and increases the risk of dehydration and disturbed temperature regulation. Alcohol may also mask the perceived intensity of MDMA, which can lead to misjudging the overall pharmacological load.
